The Plan of Salvation

[EXCERPT Reprinted from the book LOADED WITH BENEFITS by Ollie and Daisy Buckner; copyright © 2009; Published by Lulu.com.]

 Psalm 95:7-8
"For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. To day if ye will hear His voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness."

God's Plan of Salvation for the sinner is expressed in the Scriptures below.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

The Invitation: Isaiah 55:1-3
1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto Me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come unto Me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins! I believe that You were resurrected, defeating death for me so that I could have eternal life. I pray that You will forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. It is my desire to be a member of Your Family. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your promise for those who come to You, You will "in no wise cast them out." Thank You, for accepting me into Your Family. I pray that from this day forward, I will seek to glorify You and to do Your will. Amen.

The Next Step

The next step is for the believer to become affiliated with a local church. Here the believer can become involved in Formal Bible Study and "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). This is a place where the believer can worship, study, fellowship and in general, be encouraged while also encouraging other believers, as commanded in the following Scriptures.

Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
